Exhibition, “The Age of Fabergé,” Kostroma 2011

For the second year in a row the Fabergé Museum holds an exhibition devoted to the celebration of 400 years of the Imperial House of Romanov. The exhibition the “Age of Fabergé” opened in the Kostroma State Historical, Architectural & Arts Museum.

In Kostroma 270 items are exhibited for the first time. The main part of the collection are the creations of Carl Fabergé; other pieces are the work of other talented artists from the same time period. The majority of works exhibited belonged to the Imperial family. 55 items are newly acquired pieces and are exhibited for the very first time. All the items belong to the world’s largest Fabergé collection, owned by Alexander Ivanov of Moscow, who is a founder of the Fabergé Museum. The exhibition shows the history and development of the Fabergé company from the end of the 19th century through the early 20th century.
