K. Fabergé, H. Wigström’s workshop
St. Petersburg, 1899 – 1903
Wigström’s workshop made many desk clocks. He became Fabergé’s chief master after Perkhin’s death in 1903. As chief master he was also responsible for making Easter eggs for the Imperial Family. Wigström also had a special talent in making exquisite cigar cases, frames, clocks and small figurative works which the firm made in considerable quantities during its most productive years. Wigström’s works are stylistically reminiscent of the First Empire and Louis XVI.
