The Buddha figure was made by Faberge for selection to the King of Siam. There are only 11 such figures known in the world by Faberge and Cartier. The Nephrit Buddha is mentioned in the documents of the Russian Academy of Sciences for 1918. There is also an original photograph preserved, in which he is represented in the interior of one of Faberge’s stores.
