Antique musical walking and fantail-displaying Indian Peacock automation
The museum’s collection has an extremely rare life-size antique Indian Peacock with complete peacock plumage by Roullet&Decamps
Decamps. French, circa 1895.
This peacock was in the design studio of the Moscow branch of Carl Faberge. And he was the prototype of the surprise of the imperial Easter egg with a surprise in the form of a peacock in 1908. This surprise completely copies the working mechanism of this mechanical peacock.
